Item: 3x Tannoy System 800 Studio Monitor Speakers
Location: Perth
Price: $300 ea
Item Condition: Great with some scuff marks to bottoms/sides when removing from cabinetry
Reason for selling: No longer required
Payment Method: Local pickup only - Cash & Paypal (+3%)
Extra Info: These behemoths consist of 8" drivers with the classic Tannoy dual concentric design. Massively efficient at 92dB, 8 Ohm impedance and frequency response of 47Hz-20kHz. Will shift some serious air from even a fairly modest AV receiver. I had these paired to my Cyrus AV Master 8.0/8 Power system (which have recently moved on) as my LCR in some custom cabinetry. Moved house with no option for discrete speakers and they are too big to hang on to.
These can be placed horizontally or vertically - the Tannoy badge even rotates to suit your preferred positioning.

Selling a Yulong DA8 DAC/Amp that was purchased in 2015. Those of you who know the DA8, it needs no introduction, as you already know that it out performances many DACs in its price range. As a bonus the integrated amp is also quite decent and well above many entry to mid level options. Currently using with LCD2 and HD650, and are beautiful pairings. Many people have landed on the DA8 and decided that there is no need to upgrade anymore.
Here are some reviews for those that are not as familiar with the Yulong DA8 DAC/Amp.

Was used with the also listed Tannoy 800 speakers. Comes with figure 8 power cable. Line level only, so ideally paired with an AV receive or stereo amplifier with pre-out.

Item: Chord Silverscreen Bi-Wire set - 2x 3m pair, 1x 1m with 18x Neotech banana plugs (all currently in 2-4 bi-wire configuration)
Location: Perth
Price: $200 for the lot
Item Condition: Some of the Chord labelling has faded, but otherwise perfect.
Reason for selling: No longer required
Payment Method: Cash, Paypal (+3%)
Extra Info: These were the first cables that were audibly beneficial in my surround system. I had them doubled up in a 2-2 configuration with the Tannoy System 800's, and then re-wired to 2-4 for use with other speakers since. No longer manufactured by Chord UK, who I believe have dropped all bi-wire cable options altogether.

Price: $500
Item Condition: Perfick

Extra Info: If you are a cable hoarder like me, sometimes you don't even realise what stuff you have laying around unused until you have a good cleanout. These are a fantastic performing set of speaker cables, factory terminated with expanding plugs for locking into position of your speaker or amplifier binding posts. Bought these in Melbourne some years ago along with a bunch of other Atlas gear I was able to listen to and I have just found them in a box of miscellaneous stuffs.

For very reluctant sale is my pair of vintage ProAc Extended Bass Tablette speakers. These are in excellent cosmetic and functional condition and are featured in gloss black. Hi all,
recently purchased a used NAD 533. I have noticed that one of the phono plugs is sensitive to movement and the left sound drops out only very occasionally. Moving the base of the wire near the plug makes the sound com back on.
I have seen the full re-wiring mods done to these arms and wonder if it is worth it? The sound quality is otherwise great and this doesn't really take away from the experience as it is easily resolved if by nudging the plug every few days. That said, it could be impacting on sound quality.
The question I have is - is this a hard job and what are some well priced wiring sets i can buy?
Thanks
Item: Grave Science 75Ohm Digital Interconnect 1.5m RCA to RCA
Location: Brisbane
Price: $50 - local pick up preferred - paypal in posting
Item Condition: excellent
Reason for selling: See below.
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal
Extra Info: I bought this about 2 months ago and also a Canare coaxial cable at the same time to see which one worked best with my system.
I initially gave the thumbs up with this cable when using it with an Audiospace KT88 valve amp fed by an Auralic Mini streamer. Interestingly when I sold the Audiospace and repeated the experiment with my solid state amp - the contest went the other way. Of course if you believe that digital cables can't sound different then stop reading. In my experience though, the Grave Science will be useful in systems which tend towards brightness, glare or need a bit more lower frequency presence. Partnered well it will give you a great sound. I don't need 2 cables at this point in time.
1.5 metres is supposed to be the "perfect" length for those concerned with such things. A beautifully put together cable.

So .. i've decided to get into the world of the mysterious, and slightly expensive 'turntables'.
I just bought (for $200) a AR XA, in not particularly good condition but working perfectly.
I also bought (the day before) a project debut II, so one of them will have to go - which to keep since they both cost the same
I hear there are many upgrades possible, but not really interested in dropping huge amounts of cash on something this old.
Anyone restored one? Any suggesting on easy, safe (cheap) upgrades? Are they still desirable to people?
I mainly bought it because it came with the dustcover looked kinda cool.
Any thoughts, parts, resources?
Guys I am not really into headfi but have a couple of leads to pickup some HD700's and would like to know what I could get for between $300 and $600 in terms of a amp/dac combo or separates. I'll be using a PC for a source and would also like to use my Samsung Note 5.
I just sold a WA6SE which I was using primarily as a preamp believe it all not. Anyhow it was probably more amp for my headfi requirements and I have now have some cash to splash on the afire mentioned.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS I just bought some Sennheiser Momentum IEM's from JB for $110 to replace my 6 year old Etymotic HF5's which eventually fell apart for use with my phone on the plane ( I commute twice per week). I don't expect them to be better than the Ety's but to replace them was something like $230 vs $160 6 years ago!
Matt

Item: Leak 2060 pair
Location: Adelaide (Glenunga)
Price: Whatever it costs to send 4 boxes of magazines to Melbourne
Item Condition: Working
I know someone in Glenunga, Adelaide who has a collection of hifi magazines and a pair of Leak 2060s for me. All I want is the magazines, so I'm looking for an Adelaide SNAer willing to pick up the lot and send the mags to me (use a courier, cheaper than post, I'll help out with booking advice). Keep the Leaks for yourself.
He says one cabinet has some scratches but they both work well.
The magazines are already boxed up and a courier can pick them up from your door. You won't need to be home if you have a front porch etc to leave them. It'd cost $50-100, and if the courier ends up costing more than the speakers are worth to you, I'll chip in. But I suspect it'll be a good deal for someone.
It'd be nice if it were a forum regular...
