Extra Info: I recently purchased this lovely amp from another SNA member. My thinking was to simplify my system and sell my Pre / Power combination to recoup some funds.
After spending time setting up the system with the RI-100 I have found that it just does not suit my current system so I am putting back on the market.
I would suggest that you need speakers that are 90db or better sensitivity, a bit bright in the top end and a little bass shy and this would be a great setup. The sound is a little laid back but has prodigious bass.
The amp has really nice flexibility in naming inputs, setting input levels for each device, a simple remote that does the job well (apple) and overall very easy to use.
I am happy to deliver the amp to Melbourne or arrange freight from 3690 to other destinations. It comes with original box and packing (surprising this is a single box)
I am the second owner and it was purchased from the distributor in Melbourne from the previous owner a little over a year ago.

Single ended tube amps from Humpty Doo?
I was just browsing eBay (as you do at work, sometimes) and noticed a couple of cheap (in dollars) tube amps from a guy in the Northern Territory. Has anyone brushed up against any of these at any stage? Not sure if they've passed any electrical safety inspections (which may account for the price), but they did peak my interest a bit...being point to point hand wired and all.
There's a Stereo 10W FU-7 (G807) 6N8P (6SN7GT) Amplifier, an 8W stereo 6P3P (6L6GT) + 6N1 Amplifier, and a 4W stereo 6P1P (9 pin 6AQ5) + 6N2 Amplifier all sitting out there at the moment. No idea of topology, but the layout looks fairly simple.

All of Marilyn Manson's early albums are very hard to come by on vinyl these days. This copy is fantastic. Only played a couple of times and the vinyl is near mint and well cared for and played on premium equipment. The sleeve only has the slightest of shelf wear but is very minimal.

Transformer secondary voltage
Hi guys
I have just purchased 2 Nuvotem talema 50 v transformers rated for Australia mains supply with a primary of 230v @50VA from RS. I have just tested the secondary voltage unloaded and I am getting 63 v from both transformers. I understand that the voltage will drop under load but do you think this will damage the board which is rated up to 56v

Time to sell my beloved little S200 from the early 90s, one of the last true Nelson Pass models before he left Threshold and started Pass Labs. These Stasis amps were the culmination of 10-15 years of Pass's thoughts and efforts on how to get Class A magic out of transistor amps with Class AB power, by using variable/sliding bias schemes. And this S200 is the later and best version with the rock solid optical bias circuitry.
Pass himself is super proud of the S200. Basically it sounds like a Class A amp and also has some serious drive for what's a fairly small amp—over the years I've used it to drive some pretty demanding speakers like Thiels etc and it's always shone. Specs read 2x100W into 8Ω and 2x200W into 4Ω and supposedly owners have bench tested significantly bigger numbers.
It's a rare 240V Aussie delivery.
It's in nice shape although a good candidate for a routine service (I don't believe it's ever seen a tech's bench) and possibly a recap ('cos it's about 25 years old). Also the transformer hums, at least on my AC lines. (On that, I've heard Threshold fans like to upsize the power trafo in these to good effect. The stock one's surprisingly small.)
I think I have some paperwork, schematics etc lying around for it.

Cleaning CD jewel cases
One of my hifi projects is removing sticker gum from all the jewel cases as the adhesive seems to get worse over time. I have a bottle of eucalyptus oil on hand to remove the sticky residue when I reach into the collection to play a CD and find one with price labels and stickers all over its case.
But! Some brands of eucalyptus oil destroy the jewel case - instead of removing the residue, they smear it across the jewel case and in a certain light it's a white smear. It feels rough, too.
Other brands of eucalyptus oil clean up perfectly - no residue. But all the brands I buy are listed as "100% Pure"!
Is "100% Pure" not actually 100% pure? I'm simply curious about what is going on here. What's the mechanism at work?
I'm not agitated about this first world problem, just curious.
