I have "listened" to these only once and hence have my own aiff copy of these.

i'm even a little reluctant to sell (because it looks so good) but I'll probably not open this box again since they are on my pc

 

I have examined the cds themselves again and they are still immaculate

I have a Marantz EQ-340 for sale.

 

Sold for parts. I can't guarantee that it is working as it has been stored for a long time and not been used.

Clean amp.. has that big warm NAD Sound. Buttons on the front are rooted.. the electronic switching is stuffed.. it was that way when i got it of ebay years ago ( the seller wasnt as classy as i am and will tell you up front ). you can work out how to press the wrong buttons and get 2 or 3 of the inputs to work, or the B speakers to output.. but seriously...   Only look at this if you have 1 input and want the A speakers to run..  turn it on and she runs great Other than that and sound wise its in perfect nick.. I have been known to very anal about my sound, and as far as my ears go I've ran the amp for a few years and amplification wise its NAD warm smooth goodness, no issues  Tone knobs and volume are perfect Tone bypass button works perfect to if i remember correctly. 
 
Pictures: cant be arsed.. its very clean.. i was going to say mint.. but I got a torch on her and there are some small scratches in the front that would probably stand out like dogs balls in daylight.. the tops great, i remember the back is clean .. so clean/very clean

 

Other thoughts - has jumpers on the back to use as a power amp - i think ( you'll have to double check that yourself ). no silly offers pls.. it can sit in my cupboard for the next 10-20 years for all i care.. If it help you or yours great, but silly offers and id rather keep it as a backup.. good amp

Item Condition: Very Good overall. Some marks near the handles from attempts to separate the plexi-glass from the chassis. Being black it can be fixed easily.
Reason for selling: Profit. I repair and recondition classic audio. Cannot continue doing just love jobs for SNA members only because they have nice, classic stuff and need help.

Extra Info: Got this on Gumtree for $500 with some noise on left channel from a seller who was clearing his collection. Also picked up from him Roksan Kandy Mk3 amp, Esoteric P-500 transport and Roksan Caspian CD Player. It appears that the items had relatively minor faults and were not tinkerer's "attempts to improve SQ" that went wrong.

Found that during assembly at EC two decades ago they did not solder base of Q505 transistor; its leg was bent and only touching the plated through hole. Fixed that and cleaned up layers of dust. Works like a charm.

Pure Class A, dual differential design. Dual mono (has two toroidal transformers one on top of another, each large enough for a medium power amp). It has a phono stage that surely is better in such integrated solution that any outboard box. 

I myself have EC-4 pre (no phono input) and AW-100DMB power and consider them the best stuff there is. But might be slightly biased.

This is EOI as I promised it to a friend for the price I paid ($500). Unless someone really wants it to match their balanced power amp and needs a phono input also

Hi guys
After some unbiased opinions and assistance.Recently purchased an Audiolab 8200CDQ with usb b connection . My children would like to connect an ipod to this directly. Can someone advise the easiest and most convenient way to do so.

The cost of the rebuild alone was $7,700 and the stylus had only about 50 hours on it before the rebuild. RRP on these puppies is now up to $13,300 (and will keep going up if the dollar drops) so here is one that is completely fresh from a factory rebuild for a fraction of the cost of a new one. It is Lyra's top of the line cartridge. Enough said.

Hi guys. I just picked up a marantz pm520dc that is in brilliant condition that i like the look of. It powers up fine, all the led's work and light up but there is absolutely no sound. I'm pretty keen to fix it or get it fixed and I was wondering what a common cause for this would be. Could it be the integrated circuit driver and is that easy to replace? I had a quick look inside the casing and it probably needs a good blow out and clean with contact cleaner but I can't identify any other issues.

 

Another question.... Where do you all get your gear repaired if you don't do it yourself? I'm in Ballarat VIC but I'd be happy to travel to Melbourne if I could find a guy that repairs hifi gear. I've got a few units that need refurbishing as well.

Anyone have any experience with the T3 ?  

 

Also, the matching of B (there is no B3) and S (there is no S3) with the T3 and C3 ?  

 

I have the Synchrony Ones, and they were fabulous value for money (thanks Townie), but they don't match the Salon2's for high quality listening.

I purchased these from another SNA'er a few months ago as I was keen to listen to these Dali classics. They are quite transparent but as you would expect from small ribbon (hybrid) speaker they don't have deep bass and would benefit from a good sub (which I don't have) I currently have way too many speakers so I'm listing these.  They do need a decent amp to drive them (not sure about valves as I don't have any valve power amps) I have tried them with a couple of SS amps and they sound quite good. 

 

As these don't have the boxes I would not be willing to ship them, but would be happy to bring them to Melbourne. 

 

Condition is very good as seen (from the photos of a previous listing). One of the ribbons has replaced with a brand new unit. Another brand new spare is included with this sale ($200 value).

Loss my bass ?

Well after a few changes to my Garrard, which I mentioned in another post, which was a change of feet from spikes to rubber and plastic type feet and a change from the original power chord to a detachable more modern set-up, I seem to have lost my warm, noticeable, bass.

Yes I had to re-install the SME arm and re-set the cart etc, but all is set the same as it was before. I've checked and double checked the arm set-up, along with all cables for correct polarity etc.

Have I lost the bass or is it now just a cleaner bass which I'm not use to?

I've introduced a new pre and amp to my set up which now really highlights the lack of bass . Yes the bass is so easily followed now, and tighter, but I miss the old bass.

Should I re-install the spikes maybe, I'm not sure. Could it be the power chord?

Old ears prevent me from really hearing what's happening I suppose, but I certainly hear the lack of bass.

Maybe the cart or stylus is losing it's mojo,

I just can't understand why.
