I got this amp a little while ago from a local HIFI guy, Adam Hutnik.
Apparently he is quite well known for the work he does in local HiFi circles.
He swapped the amp with me for some loudspeakers I was selling
This amp was fully serviced by Adam's technician and he used it for his clients as a loan amplifier.
He explained to me how all that used the amp were amazed at how it sounds.
It does sound very nice and I would be happy for interested parties to try it in their systems before purchasing. THis offer for local purchasers only.
I have done a little reading and "they" say it is the most "tube like" Solid State amp McIntosh have made.
It does have a warm and pleasant sound but I have heard no other Mac amps so I would not be able to comment further on this point.
The amp works flawlessly with no nasties that I can hear.
The gain switches must have been disconnected by Adam's tech as they do not affect the volume of the sound.
An "Audiophile" power cable and plug were added by Adam but I don't know what brand etc they are.
They are three brass conical feet on the base which make stable. these were also added by Adam.
The amp is exactly as I got it and I was told it was worth a great deal more than I am asking for it.
