Hi all,
I have just bought a pair of brand spanking new HD650 headphones and despite not being broken in yet, I am quite chuffed with the purchase. Especially how comfy they are, I can keep my glasses on without too much pressure on my lugs!
However, I have a question: (OK, more than one really!)
I am currently using the headphone socket on my integrated amp and this will be the 'go to' for awhile. Will I get better sound from a standalone Headphone Amp? And will it be possible to connect it to the 840a? After reading on the interweb, I s it just as simple as connecting the external standalone amp to the 'tape out' RCAs on the back of the 840a? Pretty sure they are there after looking at the manual, I'm trying to avoid the dusty tangled mess behind the amp! I'm also keen at having a go at the Bottlehead Crack build, looks like a fun project? Will it better the 840a?
Anyway, if you have anything to add, words of caution or encouragement or even don't do this, do that, I'd appreciate it.
Ta, Michael
