So I'm having a bad run

The other day I was asking the forum about a lack of bass from my meadowlark swifts and got some great ideas. BUT since then my turn table has send a shorted signal to my amp (frayed cable) and it has in turn damaged one of my speakers.

There is no sound at all coming from one of the bass drivers. i would have thought that if a voice coil or something got cooked there would still be some noise however bad coming from it.

Any advice on if my driver is shot or if maybe something else is amiss.
