This is an amazing powercord which not only looks like audiophile jewelry but also delivers the sonic goods. Build quality and construction is first rate, silver and black skin looks the part, flexible as much as its girth allows. Expensive Furutech AU power plug and Wattgate audiograde IEC on the other end. Holds its own with other top brands like Shunyata which has a different sonic signature. The Voodoo's to me sound faster and a bit lighter but still preserves great bass and detail. The Platinum series is close to the top and is built for noise rejection in particular which is well suited for digital and pre-amp applications although it was quite happy on power amp for me although I have a Black Diamond dedicated for that. Comes in original box.
The Platinum Powercord is especially suitable for digital source components and preamps, where AC noise suppression is penultimate in the power cord design for a dead-quiet background that will reproduce inner musical detail, controlled micro dynamics for a refined musical presentation. The Platinum is built with the cryogenically treated gold-plated VooDoo PowerPhase IEC Connector and Furutech AU AC Plug. Each strand within the lay of the conductors is individually insulated with velocity-matched Teflon dielectrics to suppress AC noise caused by micro-arcing within the individual strands of the conductors. The Platinum is 100% protected from invasive EMI and RFI with heavy-gauge copper braid shielding. All of the wire and connectors used to build the Platinum are cryogenically treated in our custom cold fusion deep-immersion process at -315 degrees Fahrenheit (-192 Celsius) to structurally align and fuse the metallurgical molecular structure of the conductive metals for optimal sonic performance. For the purpose of suppressing electromagnetic interference each conductor is insulated with Teflon dielectric and wrapped in a secondary dielectric jacket of composite polyethylene to shield against invasive EMI. The power cord body is sheathed with double layers of abrasion resistant mesh sleeve for maximum durability and optimal flexibility.
