I was very excited to have scored the Bride of Zen from a very nice gentleman here, as I do not have DIY skills. I have wanted to try this and compared it to the Lightspeed Attenuator. Unfortunately, this does not suit my system, the gain is too low.

 

I love the simple black and timber design.

Those of you familiar with Cowon will know the superb AQ they produce.  But they can be challenging to setup and my wife was not keen on it so this Cowon S9, in mint condition, is surplus to requirements and needs to go to an appreciative home.  I see most S9s are FS for 20% more than I'm asking and that is without the leather case.  I might be able to find the original box but cannot guarantee that but it will come with the all important cord to link it to a PC.

 

At the moment it is configured for random play of tracks from the albums in its 32GB memory but of course that can be changed..  I've never used it for video, only audio.

 

I'll send it well wrapped in bubblewrap in a small AP satchel.

​I'm sure most of you have heard of Bob Sugden of Lancroft, probably the finest transformer winder in Aus, he no longer winds, so these are pretty rare indeed.

you have to see these in the flesh to get the scale, the interstage are as big as most outputs i have seen, the outputs are massive!

the outputs will handle 50 watts as they were designed to run two 845 tubes in parallel single ended, hence the 5k, but these could be used to run a single 845 sakuma style, or say a single kt 120 or 300b.

i am gutted that i am listing these, but i need to raise some funds for another project, so here they are.

i would rather local pick up, but i will send interstate if i have to

Hi guys, I've got an old (but good) Pioneer DV-667A DVD player.  It's been great, but up till now I've only used its analog outputs.  Just recently I got a direct digital amp (or power DAC or whatever you want to call it).  It's an FX-Audio D802C.  Sounds good.  Here's the problem:  Play a CD, and no issues.  I tested it with a DVD and initially, no problems.  The next day I put a DVD in, and got a digital "chittering" noise, and a really loud high pitch tone (apparently - I couldn't hear it but my wife could.  Seems we've found a frequency that I lost at some gigs back in my mis-spent youth).  Again, CD plays fine.  Tried both coax and optical out and got the same problem with a DVD.  Any ideas?

Extra Info: This came from the sadly ill-fated Luxman PD350 that  many of you will remember from this forum. As if by some ancient curse that none of us should have messed with, the turntable was all but destroyed in shipping to Sydney. Luckily, the arm was shipped separately, so its in great condition.  (I can't guarantee it's not jinxed, though.) I'm not sure what modifications were done, but I think it's had the OrginLive treatment; rewire, new counterweight. (Anyone can correct me if you can see I'm misguided). 

 

It is not a "3-point" mount, it's a "threaded type" of arrangement.

Extra Info: The Beethoven Baby Grand is the version preceding the current Symphony Edition, and the speakers were purchased four years ago from Steve Bennett HiFi (I’m the original owner and a copy of the receipt can be provided). These speakers have been very well cared for. They have a slightly laid-back but nicely detailed non-fatiguing sound that suits most types of music. They perform well with tube or solid state amps. As one of the respondents to my original post wrote “…beautiful speakers that do a whole lot exceptionally well.” There are 11 months left on the warranty, and it is transferable to a new owner (as per the distributor, Audio Active). I have the original boxes with all of the packing material. Each speaker comes with the manual, aluminium outriggers, spikes, discs for floor protection, Allen wrench, and a “white glove”. Pick up preferred.

Extra Info: I bought this new from Japan about 3 years ago, Phase Tech is now branded as Phasemation. It is a 100 volt model so I'm supplying the step down transformer i used with it so it can happily work on our voltage. Phase Tech/Phasemation is a boutique Japanese brand that build superlative hi-fi with perfect, solid build quality. I have 2 of their phono stages and have used 4 of their cartridges, my current one being their stunning PP-1000. 

 

This headphone amp is very versatile with settings for gain, impedance and also damping. The damping setting in particular I found great to use as it would really open up and flesh out a highly compressed recording. Got to be honest, the impedance setting didn't seem to be noticeable but that might be the way it works with my Beyer T1s. Always more than enough gain with those.

 

Over the last year I've found I've stopped listening to headphones apart from monitoring tape recordings and listen almost exclusively through loudspeakers. The headphone output on my Marantz PM11 S2 is more than good enough for the way I use it now so this is up for sale.

 

Pick up is fine or I'm happy to post as I have the original packaging. The manual is in Japanese but it's straightforward to use.

 

Review here, surprisingly less verbose and almost readable compared to the usual 6moons guff.

It is with some reluctance I am selling-
My Wilson Audio Sasha loudspeakers, in Bugatti Blue.
These speakers were purchased from the Australian dealer, and spent 18 months in an apartment, powered by a Goldmund System.
They were sold to me to upgrade to a pair of Alexias. They have been in my Possesion for approximately 18 months, now powered by a Vitus system, which I will also probably be selling very shortly.
They have lived in a smoke and pet free environment their whole lives.
They are in excellent condition, 9.5/10 with no scratches, dents or chips. The foot set remains boxed and unused. The cloth grilles are near perfect, with one tiny loose thread, leaving a pinhead size anomaly only visible close up. They are sold with all original packing and freight boxes.
Since I bought them I have listened to them less than 500 hours.
Since moving house several months ago they have been staring at me, unplugged and not set up as I am rarely home due to my workload. As this is about to increase I have decided to sell them so somebody can actually enjoy them.
Nothing needs to be said about these speakers. They are Sasha's. They will make you very happy.
This is not my first sale here. I am sure I can obtain references. I am based in inner Sydney. These are to be collected.
