Today, I spent a few hours assisting @djb to down-size his 2 racks ... to 1 rack. He got rid of 3 components but we had to go up 1 shelf in height, compared to what he had before. However, the TT - obviously on the top shelf - is still manageable.
Here is a pic of his room when we had taken apart his racks (pic taken through his front window):
Here is a pic of his new rack, from the listening chair (aka 'the sweet spot'!):
What this has done is given David more space between the inside of this tweeter panels and the rack - so he can more easily play around with tweeter-panel toe-in. (Before, the tweeter panels were jammed up against the racks.)
So this should give you folk who are coming for a listen on Wednesday, a decided increase in SQ over what David had before!
The devices are - from the floor up:
- Amber 250 stereo amp (for the R channel)
- Amber 250 stereo amp (for the L channel)
- FM tuner
- AKSA GK-1 preamp
- CDP
- Muse MM v3 phono stage (on the R) with Hagtech 'Bugle' MM phono stage (on the L)
- 'SkeletaLinn' v1 with:
- SME 3012 at the front, with Grado Reference Master MM cart - which plays through the Bugle
- OL 'One' at the side, with Stanton WOS CS100 - which plays through the Muse.
Regards,
Andy
