Have spent the past few months experimenting with 'vintage' speakers / amp combinations, finding what I like but looking to move into some more up market speakers.
Running Sansui amplification (417/217 and soon D11), Yamaha / NAD 356BEE as required.
Currently I have / own, some of which i will be passing on.
+ Epicure 100v (amazing)
+ Epicure Model 4 (getting fixed)
+ Magnat Monitor 220 (nice, warm, amazing bass for the size and cheap).
+ Jamo E250 (did not like, bored me, wanted to throw something at them)
+ Tannoy Mercury M1 (Very detailed, great vocal / mids but just bit too small. Paired with small boston acoustics sub)
+ Electro-static speakers (ESS) Model 10 (Broad sound, balanced mid/high, not bright but bottom end bit loose for my liking)
+ Celestion Ditton one (very detailed and 'friendly', but fussy with amplification)
+ JBL control 5 - Not technically 'stereo' speakers but pretty impressed with detail. Only matched by epi's.
+ Krix Lyrix - These are in the TV room and not used for 'audio' - amazing though, big sound.
What i'm looking for is a mid/large bookshelf (i'm in a reasonable sized room).
+ Perhaps 1/2 Metre or so tall or there abouts, bit larger but not looking for full floor standing (but open to suggestions)
+ Must have detailed vocal, mids and highs. Like my vocals to stand out (FYI: Krix's sit back a little too much, but otherwise perfect speaker)
+ Bass does not have to be epic, but I want it to punch when needed.
+ Prefer natural wood rather than black, but not a big detail.
+ Something made in last 10-15 years ideally.
+ Doesn't look terrible.
Currently, looking at things like Dali Zensor 3, Monitor Audio Bronze 2 ($529) and others.
So - Suggestions, or great deal somewhere I don't know about 
?
Or if you may be interested in any of the above too it's all good.
