Item: Rega Planar 3 with Stax ua7 tonearm
Location: Williamstown
Price: $700
Item Condition: Very Good
Reason for selling: Not required
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal (buyer pays fees)
Extra Info:
I bought this Rega 3 in 1986 from its original owner, he had fitted it with the stax ua7 tonearm (carbon tone arm) and a grace FE-9 cartridge. It had good use for a number of years back then, wasn't then used for about ten years, and has been used occasionally since. It works perfectly, has a new belt and now has a project cartridge, because unfortunately the cantilever broke off the FE-9.
The arm lift/support mechanism has a crack in the black bracket that means that there is not enough tension to hold it in place, so the arm needs to be raised and lowered manually. Also missing the small black cap from the end of the arm lift.
Base has a slight scuff near the switch (see photo), also whoever installed the arm took off some of the veneer on the underside around the mounting hole (see photo).
Prefer local pickup in Williamstown, rather not post.
