I bought this phono stage from Melbourne Hifi Exchange last year (new) and have replaced the stock tubes in the phono stage section with Mullards NOS (Made in UK - not the new Mullard-in-name-only tubes). It has been my standard phono stage (with my Nighthawk in reserve) until I upgraded to the Chinook. I really like its great midrange but it is comparable in sharpness to the Nighthawk (since sold).
The exterior is similar to the early Icon Audio phono stage (apparently the factories were side by side) but the configuration is different. Not much info about it - there is one review in Hifi World in 2013 (http://www.mei-xing.com/english/english/cp/4_2006.html - scroll down) which states that except for the bass, it was spot on in many areas. The review unit uses stock 12AX7 and the reviewer did wonder about the effect of tube rolling while this unit uses Mullard ECC88s and Mullard ECC82 (there seems to be 2 different versions with one using 12AX7 and another using 6N11/ ECC88 - both are sold currently - see ebay link below for the 6N11 version)
The phono stage has two inputs for MM and MC. I was hooking up two TTs with MC carts, one using a SUT. It also has a volume switch so it can be hooked up directly to an amp.
