I have had excellent result from fellow SNAers advice on getting my gears upgraded to where i am.
Been reading the importance of the source and preamp. I have a PDX Dac going into my HK990 Integrated driving the venerable NS-1000m speakers.
I would like to add a preamp directly into the amp section of the HK990 (fully balanced analogue circuitry when hooked in via the Processor amp mode - becomes a Power amp).
My issue is I cannot find the imepence level for the amp(Processor) mode and worst of all i am very confused of how to match the input sensitivity/impedence to find the right preamp.
Can any one chime in guiding me finding the matching preamp? Budget is up to 1.5k used, tube/SS are fine be it new or vintage (e.g Yamaha C-70). I am mainly into 2.1 music and not looking for phono input.
