It's in nice condition - see the photos. the motor runs silently, the arm and lowering mechanism works perfectly. The dust lid shows some marks typical for its age but has no cracks and is structurally very sound. The original drive belt is still perfect.
I bought this new from Duratone Hi-Fi in Canberra in 1999, but it has low hours of use – probably well less than 200 albums - as I moved away from vinyl (like everyone else back then) not long after buying it.
It has a spare brand-new unused drive belt, 2 felt platter mats (the original thin one and an aftermarket slightly thicker mat that cost $40, both as new), the original 45 RPM adapter spindle and speed change tool and the original manual and other paperwork. I will throw in a mounted brand-new Ortofon OM10 cartridge worth $109 to get you started.
I don’t have the original box but it will be well packed for transport as I also still have the original motor screws. This table cost $330 after trading in a Dual 505 turntable for $50 in 1999, and so in today’s terms according to the RBA inflation calculator it would cost $600 to purchase without a cartridge if you could still buy them new, so with the OM10 and new mat it’s well under half price.
Note that this has a nice static balanced aluminum platter, not like the MDF platter rubbish on the entry level Pro-Ject turntables supplied these days in order to save on manufacturing costs.
It is an ideal first good belt drive turntable for someone getting into vinyl.
