These speakers were a premium limited edition built to run with the Absolute Hi End's TAS pre-amp/processor in the mid 90's. Think of them as the semi vintage Image may be NSFW.

predecessor to the P28's ($3999 RRP) but with a superior Focal tweeter and Aussie built cabinetry. Focal stopped supplying all their HiFi drivers to the trade a few years back and several Aussie manufacturers had to source other options. They are bi-wirable like all good Whatmough's designed by Colin.
My parents ran these (only to church on Sundays) for several years in their formal lounge room and they would have been lucky to be fired up once a month, and even then only at background music levels whilst reading or entertaining. I "borrowed" them when they moved into a single living area townhouse and I used them in my living room for around 1 year. They weren't even properly run in when I got them Image may be NSFW.

, bass response opened up significantly over the first few months I had them.
Cabinets are built and finished locally by Whatmough in real wood veneer, in excellent condition with only a couple of very small blemishes on 1 speaker (see photo below). A black texta is probably all that's required to hide them but I've left them raw for sake of transparency. They come with carpet spikes and covers, 1 plug on 1 cover is broken but they still mount securely. Covers are otherwise like new.
Speakers are front ported so are not fussy position wise and produce prodigious bass when cranking. Sound signature I would describe as neutral and with a very natural timbre.
