Extra Info:
I ran out of 89259 a little while ago, and have realized that I have about 50m of it tied up in speaker cables that I don't use. So I'm about to start dismantling the speaker cables, but I don't need all of it so am putting an EOI here.
You use this to make (unbalanced) interconnects. The reason for it's popularity in audiophile DIY circles is the dielectric material, FEP, which is a type of teflon - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluorinated_ethylene_propylene .
There is an elaborate recipe popularized by Jon Risch using just the cores. I've made a couple but it's a lot of work. The more sensible approach is to just use the cable as is. Here are some instructions:

You can get Switchcraft RCAs here: http://www.cseonline.com.au/RCA-Series-1/
A bit of Techflex and heatshrink makes them look decent if not "high end." They're a little stiff because of all that audiophile teflon. Here's mine:
Note that the cable has a slight twist in it as that is how the speaker cables are made, as you can see in the recipe here: http://diyaudioprojects.com/Power/Belden-89259-Speaker-Cables/ (note: I don't particularly recommend this speaker cable, the 89259 is much better used for ICs). I think they will come out straight enough once dismantled.
The only place that I know of where you can still buy 89259 in short lengths is http://www.rawcable.com/cable/89259.htm at USD4.10 per foot or USD13.45 per meter, equates to AUD17.96 per meter plus shipping, Paypal fees and exorbitant exchange rate conversion fees.
Looks like once the cables are dismantled there will be lengths of 3.7m, so I'm thinking $45 shipped for a 3.7m length. Let me know if that sounds fair. Please post rather than PM to express interest, my PM inbox keeps filling up. If there's interest I'll start dismantling the cables and take in order posted.
