Extra Info:I have just finished restoring the cabinets.The walnut veneer has been patched/filled where there were chips missing.Sanded back to bare timber,stained a very dark walnut/ebony and spray finished with 6 coats of 2 pack satin lacquer.
A new mesh grille,new gaskets and the stands painted silver chrome.More true to their Art Deco design aesthetic than the original light walnut/black stand.Over 40 hours labour alone in that restoration work.
I have owned other pairs of these but this pair seems to be in perfect working order and sounds superb.Other pairs I have owned obviously needed some panel or electronics restoration work but this pair sounds so good I would be reluctant to do anything more to them.
A future owner might like to have the stands chromed.That would really finish them off beautifully.
Built in 1974.Serial numbers 665 and 666.
I think these are still the best sounding hybrid electrostats I have heard.And I have owned quite a few.
The Nakamichi Dragons I owned were also very good but I preferred these in a direct comparison
