Hi. I have been reading many threads about power cords, some of which suggest that it is actually dangerous to use US bought and terminated power cords in Australia. (Not clear whether this is dangerous in terms of equipment failure, or in terms of cords catching fire). But I cannot see how this can be the case unless the actual cable that is being used in the AUS version of a cable is any different to the cable used in the US version of the cable. Can someone please give me a basic lesson in physics/electronics to explain why there might be an issue, despite the fact that the cable itself is going to be the same?
Also (and being VERY specific here), is it potentially dangerous to use a non-HC Shuyunta power cord (whether it is an AUS or US bought one!) on a 200W amplifier? (Or is the whole standard vs. HC delineation in their range more about 'getting the best SQ from the equipment?)
