It's a competent volume control device which allows the full character of your audiophile power amp to be revealed. I have used it on my Stan Curtis Moth amp and found it to be virtually "invisible" leaving only the sound signature of the Moth- which I hasten to add is simply sublime from a mere 20 watter.
