Hi all, some may have seen my other posts on my active horn project....... well as a final resort I took the minidsp out and just did a basic 1st order cross over. With the minidsp in place I could eq and cross over till I was happy with the REW measurements but it always sounded crap, no involvement, tight center based sound stage but nothing out wide or any depth.
As soon as it was out of the mix the sound stage was back, it's almost there...... but it could be better if I got the room under control.
Below are 2 room sweeps, the first is the bass horn with the mic just in front of it, the second is with the mic in my listening position. At the listening position there's a big drop in bass below 100hz, if tried inverting one driver but that made it worse.
Also in the second sweep it shows a big hole at 300hz which is well below the cross over point.
Any ideas on possible fixes?
