I've been putting some thought into the idea of potentially using Atmos modules (the kind that reflect sound off the ceiling) as a viable replacement for surround speakers.
In my main room, I'm currently only running 3.1 as the room doesn't cater for running cable to the rear and the fact I have a little one starting to get around eliminates it as a prospect.
While not ideal, I can't think of any reason why in theory, this couldn't at least work to create more ambience, similar in fashion to in-ceiling surround speakers.
I've tried searching online to see if anything has been discussed regarding this, but haven't found anything.
My room is 4m wide by 6m deep. Ceilings appear to be around 2.7m tall.
Any thoughts or experience?
