Are my new speaker cables safe to use?

I'm seriously feeling stupid asking this question, but....

Ok, my new Mogami 3082 speaker cables arrived today.
Great, but the plugs only fit half way into my speakers. Are they safe to use like this, or should I have specified another plug? (See pic)
