Stopped in at a friend of a friends place last night and he had recently purchased some VAF speakers from gumtree (local Adelaide Hills purchase). Small sock covered speaker abut 1m in height. Apparently where listed as "Ultra 7s" and thought to be about 15 years old. Was quite an impressive little floor stand speaker - although not being driven by optimum amp or well placed in room set up.
Id never heard of the "ultra 7s" - anyone know any details? - I did not undress the sock but am guessing they are a 2 way with a tweeter and two small bass drivers?
Will probably arrange for them to come for a visit to my place to test them out on my system - might even combine with a sub to see if that improves the low end a little. Sorry but I neglected to take pics.
Always interesting to see some well made SA gear still going strong and being enjoyed.
