Extra Info:
This unit belonged to Lansche plasma guy's (Brian) and was his reference of which many have had the fortune of listening to. The unit looks amazing and the spray job needs to be seen in person. The transport has been upgraded and checked over by a local CEC specialist Mark. The unit also has anti resonance dots installed. From memory the unit was used to demo an acclaimed room at a previous Melbourne hifi show. The transport comes with a heavy platter puck. It is 240v with Coaxial output.
The remote is missing its battery cover. No original box. I have been using it with big brass footers however the original feet are available.
Here is Marks information on what he upgraded:
"I'm the builder of Brians Transport and probably in the best position to answer your question, even though I'm not the one selling the unit. The restoration/mod's started by stripping out every electrolytic on every board including the display. They were well over 20 years old and probably drifting off spec, so I replaced them with reliable Nichicons throughout except the Power Supply board. The Power Supply board received Elna Simics, except one location where I had to use Nichicon Golds, and Motorola ultra fast, soft recovery rectifier diodes.
Laser was just fine, the original Sanyo's do last a long time. The main Spindle Bearing was converted to an engineering plastic, hydrodynamic radial bearing, and the thrust plate was machined from the same plastic. This required the bearing be sealed and a micro oil sump created. This was a lot of work, believe me! This bearing assy will now likely last longer than the rest of the player, but more importantly, turn with much less, ...if any vibration and very low friction. The transport on these players is so well made they will probably survive the next nuclear holocost! Both the Spindle and Tracking Belts were replaced in this process and will last for years.
Side Panel paint is DNA "blood red" that I seleceted and applied. Brain asked for a candy red, but I considered the blood red had a much deeper, richer colour to it. Facia was damaged so I hand sanded it, then had it reanodised satin black. The recessed lettering was hand filled with acrylic paint. SPDIF output RCA is a WBT NextGen,....very nice sockets indeed. The feet I usually use are Vibrapods in a custom housing, but Brian elected to use wooden feet. Whoever buys this unit can have the original feet, which are still here in Batesford, for the price of postage. They are a solid billet item with a hard rubber pad on the bottom. The Base Plate has had M4 nutserts installed so you can install a better foot than the original items, or the originals can screw straight on.
I hope this helps anyone considering the unit, understand what was done to it. It really has stunning sound when coupled to a suitable DAC."
