I bought this amplifier from the Authorised Distributor in Australia to try out single ended designs after hearing about the magic associated with them - have been using an Audio Note push pull for a while now.
The amplifier did not disappoint, it uses 12AU7, 2A3 and 845 tubes to produce 20w and the result is a very 3D sound that is quite neutral. The highlight is certainly female voices and high notes, there's a sparkle that's hard to describe, perhaps it's that last 5% of more airiness that you don't get with push pull or solid state. I've used a number of highend amps in the past, from Bladelius,Vitus, SGR, Audio Note and the Triode is a quality amp that plays with the big boys at a much more reasonable price point.
Selling because I have 2 amps at the moment, and do not have the time to switch around to listen to both. It also doesn't help that the Triode is almost 50kg so logistically quite difficult too. As such, it's pick up only at this point. I have all the boxes so if there's no local interest may consider posting.
I have purchased Psvane 945T tubes at a cost of $450, and Electro-Harmonix 2A3 tubes at a cost of $190. Both sets are included in the price, so an additional $590 of value for free. The Triode uses Shuguang 845 tubes which sound great out of the box, but the Psvane 845T brings it to another level altogether!
The amplifier has a beautiful construction, real wood panels on the side, glossy red and easy bias. This is not a 'cheap' Japanese amp from Triode. According to this website the caps are Mundorf:
