Extra Info: Bought faulty for $350 from SNA member after seeing eBay ad for "not working / for parts only".
Originally exchanged laser assembly for VAM1202 ($25 Chinese copy from eBay). Although the player started working, it was unreliable, sometimes needing "warm up" to get going.
So I have found and purchased Philips CD724 in "as new" condition and used its CDM1201 Philips mechanism.
Now works like a charm.
It cost me around $500 for the unit and parts, plus countless hours of labour.
