I'm selling this awesome SACD player and Dac to possibly upgrade to the NA-11S1. The SA8005 DAC sounds amazing, I compared it next to
the Rega Dac and the Oppo 105 to which I found it clearly superior (and they were then sold)
I would class it as reference quality playback with just a hint of Marantz 'sweetness'.
I've had many compliments on the sound of this dac from people listening to my setup. It's only because i'm a silly upgraditus-infused
audiophile that I 'have' to upgrade to the next Marantz product up the line!
Handily it has front panel support to plug your iphone/ipad to stream music, and then async usb and optical input on the rear to run from
your computer if needed.
Standard Marantz build quality, like a tank with a big transformer and a cd drive bay that makes a satisfying 'cachunk' as it pulls closed.
Made in Japan.
