Exactly what the topic saids.
Being doing some research on using electrolytic caps on psu. There is a division on what to use and what values to use, do we stick to the same voltage/capacitor rating or do we go and get the the better higher spec value with lower ESR and temp rating? I've also read that using modern lower ESR causes ringing in 7805 regulators!? Also the pros and cons of sticking decoupling film caps on electrolytic caps.
Why I ask, because I wanna experiment; I have 25v 3300uf soldered on in a commercial preamp that has no identification apart from a "M" that suggest Panasonic. I wanna replace them with these: http://au.element14.com/panasonic-electronic-components/eeutp1e512/cap-alu-elec-5100uf-25v-rad/dp/1890558
Would like to hear the pros and cons.... Go for it......
