Which fibreglass material for <150Hz reverb/muddiness in small room?

Edit - please excuse the noob question, I just read the group buy thread, but appreciate suggestions still.

I've found that low bass makes my setup sound quite muddy since the low tones hang around much longer than ideal. The room is small and one whole side is glass (double sliding doors) which I don't think helps, plus the speakers are in a corner, and the sub is in another corner. Opening the doors seems to relieve the problem.

I think the guilty frequencies are <150Hz, and probably <100Hz also (perhaps I can use a tone generator to test if needed). I've read that the material/density used is very specific to the frequency you desire to target.

I can't put them on walls but I can put them in all corners which I feel might help a lot.

  • I'm wondering what the best material is to build bass traps from to target these lower frequencies?
  • Any products available in Australia specifically I should consider?
  • I also have a feeling that traps can reduce the soundstage width/depth, is that true, or will soundstage be virtually unaffected if a low-frequency specific material (and design of course - thickness and spacing from wall) is used? I don't really want to absorb any higher frequencies if possible, but I figure there must be some crossover. Is this avoidable?

Thanks!
