I bought a VPI Scout last year and had issues with the motor part. Eventually a new motor part was sourced and the VPI Scout was sold.
Issues: (1) The plastic pulley worked loose from the spindle. After contacting VPI, I was advised to alloy superglue to it. The first few attempts did not work but a two pack appears to be holding. (2) Note the edge of the round plate holding down the motor is lifting slightly. VPI (Matt Weisfield no less) explained that they ran out of motor parts due to OEM specs issue and had to use other types. I think the different motor did not fit as well and as a result the round holding plate has a slight deformity.
Other than that, the motor works well.
Dimension of the box (which is very well padded) is 27cm x 27cm x 27 cm, 2.9kg for those who wants to calculate postage.
