As much as I keep up with what's new,(I'll have to admit some months not much,although the new Greyhounds cd is stunning), I find myself listening more so to the old stuff. Much like the 'High Fidelity' music/misery dilemma, how do you progress when the oldies are what turns you on?
The psychology of this is fascinating. These couch sitting head scratchers (not that I've been to one but I've seen the films),will tell you "Don't dwell on the past." How do you move forward when you spend the bulk of your free time looking back, through the music you listen to?
Don't know about you guys, but for me music is time specific.Case in point, the recent passing of Prince has had me back in 1984 for the last week. Now where did I park the Delorean?
