Hi Folks,
I'm replacing the capacitors on the crossovers from a set of Marantz HD66 speakers.
I'm having a bit of trouble sourcing the original caps which are both rated at 100V. Can I safely substitute 250 volt caps instead and if so are there any caveats?
Below or attached is a photo of the crossover and you'll notice some brown gunk at each solder point. Is this flux?
Do I need to re flow all the solder points and if so does that mean I should heat and remove all the old solder and replace with new or can I simply remelt the existing solder?
Thanks in advance for helping another newbie. It's much appreciated.
Cheers,
Jeff
