The Luxman L-590AX Mk 1 was my compromise on giving up my tube amp. It runs warm, but not tube warm! It has the tube-like sound to occupy my ears and the lush glow of yellow meters to occupy my eyes! If you want detail - it delivers. It is one of those amps that screams refinement and class. It deserves to be shown off and enjoyed! When I upgraded to the WLM Gran Viola it functioned as the pre-amplifier and a separate power amplifier for the mid-range. It is definitely one of the most flexible integrated amplifiers of this quality and this flexibility is all available from the remote! It is the kind of amp that will last you many changes of speakers! It puts out 2x30W at 8ohm of sweet Class-A power (I never found it lacking over a range of speakers). For late night listening it even had the guilty pleasure of the loudness button which often gave the music that extra body so I didn't receive the "please turn down the stereo" text messages from my wife in the bedroom. I wish I had the room to keep her (the Luxman that is!).
