Extra Info:I am selling a pair of Magnepan MGMC1's. These are a superb pair of speakers which remain true to and highlight what is the
Magnepan experience. As some of you know I have recently acquired a pair of Tympani 1Ds so I am going to be selling some audio gear
to fund this adventure. Moreover I simply dont have the room for these speakers which I was using at some point as front L & R and more
recently as Centre speakers when linked in series. These speakers are so versatile and in fact out of all the Magnepan range this set rank
as quite possibly the most flexible in use. They can be used on the front, as a centre pairing, on the side or on the rear. Furthermore they
are meant to be fixed to the wall although in saying this I made wooden stands for them to be mounted on when used as the front channels.
I wont go into detail in terms of sonic performance as there is enough material out there that speaks volumes for any Magnepan. Okay time for FULL
DISCLOSURE. I bought these speakers off a chap last year who purchased them from Kahl Audio in the US. I have the receipt as proof of purchase
and cost of shipping and it should come as no surprise that shipping alone was more than the price of the speakers themselves! Consider that the speakers
were priced at US $550 and you will start to get an idea of total price. Speaking to Bill Mclean I believe the RRP on these speakers was/is $2999.
Now these speakers are in immaculate condition and were sent to Magnepan for repair following a "pen tip puncture". Effectively speaking as a result of
this they are for all intents and purposes almost in as new a condition as what you are going to get when it comes to Magnepans. These speakers very
rarely come onto the for sale section. If you look in the photo from the website they appear with a white sock. I spent an additional $125 to change the
colour to black to appease the wife. Given what I paid for these and the previous gentleman along with the additional costing of re-socking I dont think
I could have come up with a fairer price. Remember these are maggies.
The photos I have provided show the Maggies against my IIIA's which are for reference purposes as big as the 3.7's and against the MMG's.
I will be more than happy to give a potential buyer an in house demo. Please note that they come with original boxes as well as an additional box which
was used to transport from the US to here. Postage will be at the expense of the purchaser.
I can only say that once you go flat you wont go back. These were the first pair of maggies I bought and resulted in my ongoing addiction and obsession
with the flats
