Extra Info: The MFA Magus preamplifier is widely regarded as one of the best bang for buck units ever made in the late 80's, with an outstanding MM phono stage and a separate power supply. This model is version A2, built 01-1988.
I purchased this unit in April 2012, and have used it as my phono stage since this time, and have been very happy with the performance.
Running the following valves (approximately 200 hours use):
Phono Stage
2 x 12AX7 JAN GE 5751
1 x 12AT7 JAN GE 12AT7WC
Line Stage
1 x 6DJ8 Tungsram E88CC/6922 (with a spare NOS JAN Phillips Low Noise 6922)
Perfect for anyone looking at dipping their toes into valve pre-amplification - I have run it with Cymer power amplifiers, but have read numerous reports on forums where people have happily run it with solid state power amps also.
