Extra Info:
I got this free from SNA and now I'm trying to get rid of it (!) because I've since bought about 25 more channels of amplification. I'd rather not take it to the tip, so one last try. Ecologically speaking, it's really a shame that AV Receivers are so popular, because the amplification section far outlasts the front end stuff.
Fantastic AMAZING Pioneer receiver, you will not believe the sound quality you get from this QUALITY unit! Buy it now before it's too late!!
Actually, it's not bad, I preferred it (used as a "multichannel power amp") to a well-known famous but unnamed manufacturer of Class D modules.
I'd like to advertise this as something that you really want to have because of its incredible build quality. I'd like to say that you could drive a truck over it, because I know that is important to many audiophiles. However, I can't say that because my wife already stood on it and proved otherwise (see photo). That will teach me to leave black boxes on the floor...!
I've never tried any real A/V stuff through this, only used it as a multichannel power amp. Just connect your multichannel source to the "5.1" inputs. This would be a cheap way to experiment with active speakers too. So I don't know if the Dolby decoding or the video circuits work. I assume they do, but haven't tried it.
Also there's no remote. You just select 5.1 input on the front panel and turn the big knob.
Let me know if you can use something like this. Or this specifically. Because I really want to give it to someone.

PS. since taking that photo I've taken the lid off and straightened it out a bit, doesn't look so bad now.
