I really liked the first "The Trip".
Thought it was a good concept, two actors/comedians playing exaggerated versions of themselves in a "reality" format of sorts.
I must t say I was a bit sceptical when I saw they were doing it again.
And so far (4 eps)....well.....yeh, meh.
It really has none of the charm of the first series, just seems like a re-hash or outtakes from the first round, but in Italy.
Rob Brydon's endless recitals in Hopkins' or Burton's voices are getting very old.
The "we don't really want to be doing this but are kind of having a good time" schtick is not that funny any more.
There's nothing new, nothing fresh and exciting about it.
Steve Coogan definitely doesn't seem to be enjoying it, even though that is probably how he's supposed to come across.
But then again, he was the same in the first series, but seemed to be more in to it.....

I'll still watch the whole thing though, as it has a few funny moments.
